"Congratulations on the district being rated "Excellent" by the Ohio Department of Education!  Not only are congratulations in order for you and your administration, but for the teachers and Board of Education.  A high quality education is important not only for students, but it has a positive effect upon many community factors.  I came to the University of Toledo in 1963 as a professor of education. Most of my teaching was on the graduate level.  My wife and I are residents of Holland and we are very proud of what you, your faculty, staff, and students have accomplished. We know that many in this area are equally proud of this achievement.  Your efforts are greatly appreciated!

"The school should truly be proud of this Excellent Rating!  We have been impressed with the teachers, counselors and staff of both Holland and SHS.  It is evident the level of caring, knowledge and the follow up of concerns are extremely high!  We appreciate all of the help we've received."

"Dear Mrs. Hott:
I had to make you aware of some wonderful students at Dorr Elementary. Before preparing to take the Ohio Achievement Tests, many 5th graders came up to me, anxious and excited about the upcoming test. As I was giving words of encouragement, one child told me about purchasing a stress ball. She actually gave me a handful of pennies to purchase one.

Now, I hadn't been down the 5th Grade hall for a few days, and was puzzled about this venture. Apparently two young girls (Emily L and Emma K) have been creating stress balls (sand in a balloon with a smiley face). With the money they earn, they want to purchase a tree for the school. Just wanted to give you the heads up on this great effort!"

"Over the past few weeks, our family has received much attention and been asked many questions about advice we would give to others raising their children, as ours have enjoyed success academically . . . When we think back to the decision to move the kids from private to public schools, I think of the advice from friends and neighbors and how many positive comments they had about Springfield Schools. It is overwhelming to think about all the teachers, counselors, administrators, and coaches who have made such a positive difference in their lives. We just want to thank you for all the hard work and dedication you have provided over the years. Springfield Schools is an outstanding system and we are proud to say our kids are graduates"

"The SLS experience challenges students to strive for academic excellence, civic involvement, personal integrity and social responsibility. Our daughters find their teachers accessible long past school hours for mentoring and assistance. Beyond the coursework, both our high schoolers have grown through participation in a wide variety of extra-curriculars helping them explore interests, develop abilities, and learn life skills that will help them be assets to their future employers, communities, and families."

"Throughout her three years at SMS, our daughter was continually challenged by the school’s rigorous curriculum. The faculty encouraged her, both through Honors classes and extracurricular initiatives, to broaden her academic, social, and leadership skills. Her involvement in Power of the Pen led her to discover a love for writing. She has used her abilities and skills to make a difference in all our lives and we appreciate the dedication and commitment that SMS faculty and staff members have shown our daughter."

"The Crissey experience has been wonderful! We would not think of enrolling our children anywhere else . . . We are extremely pleased with the academic and social development our children have achieved. The support from the entire staff and parent involvement is something that we have never witnessed at any of the schools we have been involved with in the past."

"We debated for a long time whether to send our sons to private or public schools. After meeting with your staff, we were so impressed that we chose Springfield and have truly been pleased with all levels – elementary, middle, and high!"

"As a full time-member of the faculty at BGSU, education is very important to me, and I want the absolute best available opportunities for my two school-age children. After carefully reviewing test scores, values education, extra curricular activities, and faculty and support staff for both private and public elementary schools in Northwest Ohio, I chose to send my children to Holland Elementary, one of four elementaries in Springfield Local School district. For the past four years, my family has experienced firsthand the 'excellence without exception' to which the district is dedicated. We are pleased with our choice and the first-class education our children are receiving – we invite you to come and experience Holland Elementary for yourselves!"

For the last five years, we have been more than pleased with the academic curriculum and extracurricular opportunities at Dorr. From the Accelerated Reader program to the Random Act of Kindness Club, each child has access to a solid foundation of learning during these critical formative years. As parents, we also appreciate Principal Dr. Ken Newbury's approachability and responsiveness to the children's needs. "For the past seven years, I have been an active member of HAP. I have noticed throughout the years how involved, interested and committed our parents are in all areas . . .during the school day and beyond. The teachers and staff are just as dedicated to the education of our students - I am proud to be a part of the Holloway family."

"We just wanted you to know that Scott is doing very well at West Point. We owe that he is doing so well to Springfield High School.  You did a great job with both of our children. It's funny that it took moving away to learn how impressive the school district is! California schools just can't compare . . ."
