Welcome to Holland Elementary School, where our mission "We commit to work as a collaborative team to provide a safe, positive learning environment; to develop motivated and well-behaved students; to promote strong leadership and innovative learning; to set and achieve high academic standards; and encourage families to be committed to this effort as well" – is visible each day throughout our school. This complements the new Holland HAWKS hallway sign that says: Holland Students are Honorable Achievers Working for Knowledge and Success.
We would like to share a little about the school – first, Holland serves students in kindergarten through grade five and houses both the very first classrooms to provide education to Holland Springfield students and the newest classrooms in the school district! High academic standards, evidenced through Holland’s rating of EFFECTIVE from the Ohio Department of Education in 2010-2011, plus strong communication between faculty and parents ensure that each student has every opportunity to achieve to his/her highest ability. Holland also attained a Performance Index of 98.7!

A Testimonial from a Holland Parent
As a full time-member of the faculty at BGSU, education is very important to me, and I want the absolute best available opportunities for my two school-age children. After carefully reviewing test scores, values education, extra curricular activities, and faculty and support staff for both private and public elementary schools in Northwest Ohio, I chose to send my children to Holland Elementary, one of four elementaries in Springfield Local School district. For the past five years, my family has experienced firsthand the “excellence without exception” to which the district is dedicated. HPC Family Bingo Night a Big Success - Next Up: Family Fun Night Feb. 3rd:
Over 50 families joined together Friday, January 27th to enjoy a night of Bingo fun in the Holland cafeteria. HPC President Marty Zimmann was the best number caller of the evening when he combined the bingo numbers with quotes from the different Star Wars movies. Instead of just "B10" it became, "B, Oh the force is strong in this one, 10" The students all became callers as they lined up to take a turn calling out the numbers too. We didn't stop when one person yelled out "BINGO", we kept on calling until there were six or seven winners with each game. That way the fun was spread all around. Every student was a winner as the HPC had over 100 gift bags full of treats, chips, and toys. Twenty-three of the bags were especially nice as the held a paper that entitled the holder to pick out some Holland Spirit wear. Shirts, hoodies, tote-bags, and more were for the lucky winners of those gift bags. Free snacks and drinks were provided by the HPC and through the generousity of Ms. Julie Axe. The next Family Fun Night is coming up this Friday, Feb. 3rd. Sponsored by Mrs. Dianne Brown, Holland Physical Education teacher, this fun filled evening will feature lots of "heart pumping" activities and lots of opportunities to see where your skill levels are against your child's levels. Lots of Moms and Pops will be surprised how fit their students are when they get a chance to take them on in fun activities. Please join us this Friday, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Holland Elementary, Home of the fabulously fit Soaring Hawks!!
